Starmer has made yet another policy announcement which was not in Labour’s election manifesto and this time it’s Tony Blair’s old favourite, a Digital National Identity card apparently to be set up by Blair’s son’s Company.

So the backdrop was illegal immigrants taking Brit’s jobs. The story about migrants working for Uber-Eats was very deliberate as is the constant ‘baiting’ of the hard working people of the UK with boatloads of migrants who are then accommodated at the taxpayer’s expense, often in very nice hotels. The owners of the hotels and the Companies who manage the whole operation are earning millions of £££’s from hardworking British taxpayers. The migrants are encouraged and helped by the Government (have you seen the video showing dinghies being returned to France for the next load of passengers?!). People rightly say ‘what happened to the £2000 fine for aiding an illegal migrant that lorry drivers used to have to pay if someone clung to their lorry through the Channel Tunnel? If this still applied then the RNLI must owe millions in fines! These boat service should not be happening, it’s not good for anyone but especially the people on the boats who for the most part can’t swim.

The idea of course sounds good, a ‘Britcard’ they say will prevent illegal working and access to services. Or will it? Of course it won’t, anyone employing an illegal worker already does so ‘under the radar’. National Insurance cards are perfectly adequate. The NHS are unable to police who gets treated, this ‘Britcard’ will not make a shred of difference. The data theft and privacy concerns are also enormous.

So why do they want to introduce the ID card? Well, pop your conspiracy theorists’ tin foil hat on for a moment (they have been right so far!) and stretch your imagination. It’s the beginning of a digital control grid that will enable the Government to introduce Digital Money, restrict your ability to travel, control how much carbon you use (don’t get me started on ’climate change’), restrict you to a certain amount of miles travelled per day or week etc etc. Digital Money means the end of cash and the Government’s ability to deduct fines, taxes etc etc from your bank account at will. It’s the ‘thin end of the wedge’ but if we all stand up and say NO then it won’t happen.
